Two American beavers have set up residence along Coal Creek in Lafayette and have at least one kit. Join naturalist Dave Sutherland and Friends of Coal Creek for an easy walk to visit the beaver works and learn how these ecosystem engineers create primo wildlife habitat even within urban areas. Although we can’t guarantee we’ll see the beavers during the hike (they are mainly active at night) you never know, but we're almost certain to hear the hoots of great horned owls on the return.
