We have an amazing opportunity to put in a high-visibility pollinator garden right at the entrance to the Public Road trailhead — by far the busiest trailhead in Lafayette! We’re holding this event the day after BVSD lets out and it will be family friendly. Bring your kids!
A few weeks ago, a work crew from Friends of Coal Creek removed a Dumpster full of tumblweed, opening up this area to a potential planting. The City of Lafayette Open Space Department was into it and no we’re going to make it happen. Help us fill the empty space with native plants — grasses, flower and shrubs — that will turn the area beside the road into the showpiece it deserves to be.
Tasks will include: Raking/clearing, planting, mulching and watering. There will be plenty of kid-friendly tasks. Bring the whole crew!
