Plant a Pollinator Garden at The Peaks

So much potential at The Peaks.

**THIS EVENT IS NOW FULL. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT!

It’s finally happening! We are looking for 20 volunteers to install a pollinator-friendly garden at The Peaks, a senior living center adjacent to Coal Creek in Lafayette. The area we’ll be planting is currently underused, and installing a garden will invite insect life such as bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, widening the quality wildlife habitat along the creek. The garden will also give our elders a chance to enjoy and participate in the garden, with known benefits to health and well being.

Volunteers can expect to:
[] Pull weeds to prepare a 500-square-foot garden bed
[] Trench for prairie dog fencing
[] Plant a variety of pollinator-friendly species
[] Add soil amendments, mulch & water

We’ll be working alongside some of our elders in residence at The Peaks, making this a special opportunity to strengthen our local community and build new connections.
