Teasel Tussle

  • Coal Creek Lafayette, CO (map)

Common teasel.

Teasel time is here again.

This riparian weed crowds out native species with its extremely prolific seeding. One plant can drop tens of thousands of seeds, creating a carpet of teasel. Help us improve habitat quality by removing it along the creek in Lafayette.

In this 90-minute project, we’ll remove rosettes — a more satisfying pop may not exist in nature — and lop and remove stalks from last year’s plants. This is our fourth year removing teasel and our action is having an impact. Help us keep the good work going.

Actual location TBD.
