Grab your binoculars and come out for a rare opportunity to observe rare barn owls in the cliff face of Coal Creek as it oxbows through Erie.
Discovered by Art Reisman and Catherine Long three years ago, these elusive birds have become a yearly highlight of the area. In mid-September, their young fledglings emerge from their nesting cavity, providing a captivating spectacle for birdwatchers of all levels.
No prior birding experience is necessary. Our knowledgeable guides will provide binoculars, but feel free to bring your own.
Remember to wear long pants, bug spray, and consider bringing a flashlight.
